Avo needs to change the name of the shop to "best damn mechanic, honesty free of charge". I took my Lexus there on 7/31/06 to replace the main rear engine seal and the radiator fan hose. This meant removing the chassis, so I knew it would be pricey (the dealer quoted me $1700 min.). Avo not only beats the price, but when he checks out the parts the dealer cited, he exposes the fact that a cheaper part was actually required. That alone saved me $200. The whole repair cost $991 under Avo's watchful care. He did it in two days and that was because he had to order the cheaper part.

By the way, his customer service is great. When he called the rental car company to pick me up, they said they'd be over in 10 minutes. This prompted him to say "I'll drive you over myself", which meant I wouldn't be late for work. Nice. The extra touch was much appreciated.

When I first called Avo for a price quote, it was a month before I made it over to his place to get it done. He still had the quote on his computer with the pricing he originally offered. Again, he went the extra mile of documenting prices and backing them up. His thoroughness came through in the workmanship too. The car runs great after he made the repairs. He is the master of auto repair.

PROS: affordable, efficient, honest, helpful
CONS: hard to find--it is actually on Greenwood, south of Walnut
